A Day on the Farm
On Wednesday 20th of May, the children and staff at Rainbow visited Woodland Farm (at the bottom of Shooters Hill). The children benefited from an educational tutor (Ellen) who took them round the farm looking at the different animals, explaining the food they like to eat and where they live on the farm. Everyone had a lovely time, especially the children who were given a quest to find different things along the tour to stick on to their educational cards. Afterwards, they children enjoyed a picnic lunch and then stayed to explore the Farm and spend time talking to the animals. They were invited to collect eggs from the Chickens hutches to put into boxes for the farm shop. They enjoyed this immensely and learned about how farms work during their day out.

Ellen introduces the children to the animals and tells them about how they live and what they eat before exploring the farm yard.

Ellen's introduction of the farm animals for the benefit of all the children had a positive affect and built their confidence with around the chickens, pigs, ducks and sheep.
